Patriot Brief

  • What Happened: Gov. Abbott ordered every Texas high school to allow TPUSA’s Club America chapters and warned districts against blocking them.

  • Why It Matters: State leaders say the movement fills a moral and cultural void for students and honors Charlie Kirk’s legacy.

  • Bottom Line: Texas is positioning TPUSA as a statewide youth values initiative, with school pushback no longer tolerated.

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott is putting public schools on notice: every high school in the state should prepare for a Turning Point USA Club America chapter, and any district that blocks them will be dealing directly with the Texas Education Agency. Abbott and Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick framed the rapid expansion of Club America as a moral mission rooted in the legacy of the late Charlie Kirk, calling the movement a revival of faith, purpose, and patriotism among young Texans.

Club America chapters operate like student-led conservative hubs, hosting speakers and setting up campus tables to promote TPUSA’s worldview. Abbott says their surge reflects a cultural shift among teens who are hungry for grounding values. He compared Club America to earlier faith-oriented student groups that once defined campus life, arguing that today’s students are eager to reclaim meaning in a confused cultural landscape.

“Any school that stands in the way of a Club America program in their school should be reported immediately to the Texas Education Agency,” Abbott warned. “I expect meaningful disciplinary action to be taken for any stoppage of TPUSA in the great state of Texas.”

Patrick echoed that sentiment, saying modern students are searching for direction after years of national upheaval. He pointed to his own grandson’s involvement in Club America as proof that the group is filling a void left by fading civic and religious institutions.

“Charlie’s message of freedom and liberty and faith is really resonating with young men and women across Texas and across America,” Patrick said.

With Florida already rolling out a similar partnership under Gov. Ron DeSantis, Texas is positioning itself to become the national headquarters of a conservative youth resurgence.
